Books Read in 2006
I read a total of 70 books this year! My goal was 52. :)
I started working on some literary classics I'd somehow missed. White Fang had an especially eye-opening point of view. Although I hadn't gotten far into Moby Dick, I can tell this is a real gem. I've tried a few new authors. James Patterson is very entertaining, and Nicholas Sparks must be read with a box of kleenex. I've started on Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot books, and am absolutely delighted. Now I know where they got the basic ideas for the tv series Monk. G.K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday has to be the year's strangest read. Anne Rice's Christ The Lord: Out of Egypt provided some interesting insight into Christ's early years. As usual, Janet Evanovich's works provided lots of laughs. Jasper Fforde's books were also quite funny and a wonderful mental break from the grimness of some of my reads.
For 2007 I hope to tackle my TBR stack more aggressively, read more classics, and do more with audiobooks. And see if I can make 87 reads for the year!
So many books, so little time! :)
